Letters to Antares is a collection of poetic letters written by the persona to Antares. In these letters, she opens up about her emotions and her life’s journey with her one true companion.
The book is divided into four chapters — each representing an emotion experienced by the persona. It takes the reader on an emotional journey from evanescence to despair, and from hope to self-healing.
BACKGROUND
Why Antares?
Antares is one of the largest stars in the night sky, also known as the heart of the scorpion due to its position at the center of the Scorpius constellation. An intriguing aspect of Antares is that it's currently in the final stages of its life and is expected to go supernova in about a million years.
Many nights, I found myself sitting on the balcony, gazing at the Scorpius constellation and speaking to Antares, as my own life was fading away. Letters to Antares serves as a metaphor; while one might think I was writing to her, the truth is that I was writing to myself.
